DescriptionThe Edinburgh Pathological Club was founded by Sir John Batty Tuke on 22nd July 1886 at a dinner party at his house. The membership was originally limited to 25 and the purpose of the Club was to meet to discuss subjects connected with pathology, although from the start the topics covered were very wide-ranging. In 1954 the Club was given a bequest by Dr A W G Clark which it used to found the Clark lectureship for lectures on cancer.
