Description Of ItemThey write to say they are glad Foulis will accompany them to the Arctic. They hope to look at the 'recently discovered' east coast of Greenland; offer a salary of £5 a month; stipulate that although all journals etc should be given up if required there would be no objection to publishing a work on comparative anatomy; suggest he learns to skin birds; offer the use of a camera; and suggest the type of rifle to purchase. Lamont was the captain of the ship Diana, the voyage of which is detailed in FOU/2/1.
