The book consists of two letters from Jesse Foot on the necessity of an inquiry, 1817; 'An Address to British Females on the moral management of Pregnancy and Labour with a vindication of Her Royal Highness' Physicians Sir Richard Croft, Dr Baillie and Dr Sims' by William Cooke, 1817; 'A Critical Inquiry into the Nature and Treatment of the Case of Princess Charlotte' by Rees Price, 1817; case of the late Princess Charlotte of Wales from Gazette of Health and Medical and Physical Intelligence, 1817; 'The Authentic Statement of the Case of Princess Charlotte' by Anthony Todd Thomson, 1817; 'An Elegy on the Death of Princess Charlotte' by Charles James, 1817; newspaper clipping on the suicide of Sir Richard Croft, 1818. All these items are annotated by Merriman and also included are: copy of a letter from Sir B Blomfield on behalf of the Prince Regent to Sir Richard Croft, 8th November 1817 and notes on practices that have become common since Princess Charlotte's death, 1838.
