These are: an original manuscript copy of the list of names willing to co-operate in the formation of a Medico-Chirurgical Society of Edinburgh, c1821; printed letter to members of the adoption of the laws of the Society at a meeting held on 25th July and the calling of another meeting for the election of office-bearers on 2nd August, the office-bearers to be drawn from the appended list of those interested in the formation of the Society, 28th July 1821; printed letter to members with the list of office-bearers requesting communications on medical subjects, c1821; printed form letter to be sent to new members, c1821; circular letter to members contributing to the publication of papers, 9th May 1823; printed letter to the ministers of the Church of Scotland on the gathering of statistics on comparative mortality, 29th May 1823; letter from Andrew Duncan senior to Dr Hamilton concerning his paper on lettuce opium, dated 28th November 1821 at Adams Square; letter from George Kellie to Dr Robert Hamilton concerning a paper he submitted, dated 30th January 1822; letter from Andrew Duncan senior to Robert Hamilton enclosing the remainder of his essay, dated 7th April 1823 at 45 York Place; letter in French from Louis Frank offering a paper to the Society, dated 1st February 1825 at Parma; letter from L McGregor [?] offering a paper to the Society on the effects of the removal of atmospheric pressure, dated 10th May 1823 at London; letter from B C Brodie [?] to Dr Hamilton concerning the affect of the Edinburgh Society on the publications of the London one with details on their contract with their publishers, dated 12th September 1821 at 16 Savile Row; letter from D Travers agreeing to submit a paper , dated 30th December 1824 at New Broad Street, London; letter from J Davy thanking the Society for the honour, dated 5th March 1824 at 4 North St David Street; letter in French from C Sédilloly [?] thanking the Society for making him a member, dated 10th March 1849 at Strasbourg; table for the recording of facts relating to the prevalence of epidemic and acute disease, 1862.
