The manuscript inserts are: letter from George W Balfour thanking Peddie for deposting the library with the College, 1879 (at the front of the volume); three letters from John Brown concerning proofs of his articles, c1848 and letter from J Lumley Earle thanking Peddie for his article On Mammary Secretion, 1862 (inserted before 'On Mammary Secretion'); letter thanking Peddie for his article on puerperal fever (signature illegible), 1895 (inserted after 'Cases Illustrative of the Contagious Nature of Puerperal Fever'); and letter from Andrew Somerville concerning Peddie's article on missionaries, 1854 (inserted after the Missionary Record of the United Presbyterian Church).
