He still does not know when his examination will take place; he often meets with Dr Abercrombie who will be the first witness; he has had a number of meetings with others to agree on their testimony: Professors William Pulteney Alison, Christison and Ballingall and Doctors Abercrombie, Maclagan and William Thomson; he describes the first performance of the Grand Festival in Westminster Abbey with Handel's Creation, Sampson and Dead March from Saul 'I would have been more than contented to have died [I was] intensely delighted'; he was shown round Downing Street by Earl Grey's housekeeper; and other leisure pursuits.
