The introductory page is inscribed 'Registres des Autopsies, Service des aliénées, tenu par C Bouchet, interne' which translates as 'Register of Autopsies - Service for the Insane - held by C Bouchet, intern'. The title page states that there were 13 autopsies in 1824 but there only appears to be 12. Each autopsy gives the patient's name, age, by whom admitted, date and time of death and details of autopsy results. After these 12 autopsies there is a title page 'Autopsies Cadveriques Année 1825 - Pierre Hyacinthe Lefebvre'. These 43 autopsies are on a wider age range but are still all insane women. The volume was manufactured in Paris. |
