| Description Of Item | Each case gives the patient's name, age, the date the patient was first seen and a journal of prescriptions, treatment and progress. Some cases also have dissection results. At p650 there is a heading 'Clinical Lectures by Rutherford MD' with a subtitle 'Lecture 1st after the preliminary one May 14th 1799' and from there to the end the cases are arranged into lectures and are less detailed. There is also an insert at p193 with a comparison between this volume and a volume of Rutherford's clinical lectures held by the Medico-Chirurgical Society. The note was written by C A J [full name not known] in 1874. It speculates that Rutherford himself wrote these case notes in later life but the later part of the volume seems to contradict this. It is not known who took the case notes. Index at the front divided into diseases of the women and diseases of the men. Originally ascribed to John Rutherford. |
