| Description Of Item | Attached to the flyleaf is an admission ticket made out to Dr Stuart allowing him access to a lecture by William Hunter at the Royal Academy, London. It is dated 1781. It is not certain whether the lectures in the volume were the ones Stuart attended. Also included is an engraving of Dr Hunter and a quote from him on the flyleaf 'Dr Stuart says 'This is a perfect copy of the lectures of Dr William Hunter upon the gravid uterus, even ipsissima verba'. |
