The book is divided by medical topic and has an index at the rear. On the front flyleaf is a lengthy inscription written by John Boswell and explaining that he bought the book at Dr Whytt's sale 'for it containes a variety of things amongst other the Drs own ms notes when a student of old Dr Young's lectures on his own private practice...Dr Whutte and I (Dr Boswell) were contemporary fellow students of Dr Young's 1730-1731'. The inside cover has a bookplate recording the bequest by John Abercrombie and is signed by John Boswell. |
