Description Of ItemIn 1898 Chalmers Watson was the first woman doctor to graduate MD from the University of Edinburgh. She then practiced as an Edinburgh physician until World War One when she organized the Women’s Army Auxillary Corps. Che was also Chair of the Edinburgh Women’s Citizens’ Association and President of the Medical Women’s Federation.

The relief is accompanied by an explanatory plaque.
