Description Of ItemFrom the collection of William Cullen. He had gone to London in the hope of getting employment accompanying invalids to the continent but has not had much success. Mr Hunter and Mr Farquhar have promised to recommend him. Mr Farquhar has managed to acquire 'a quantity of the best rum in England' and wants to send some to Edinburgh. Lord Rodney had acquired it in Jamaica after his 'memorable action' and brought it to England but had then got gout and called for Mr Farquhar. Farquhar took it with him thus preventing other people Lord Rodney had promised it to, such as Dr Blane, without any. Addressed to Henry Cullen. In index.
