TitleLetter from Francis Hutchinson, Kildare Place, Dublin, Ireland to William Cullen
Date11 Nov 1782
Description Of ItemHe is the governor of hospitals in Dublin and asks for information on the ventilation at the Edinburgh Infirmary, Scotland. He asks if Cullen would approve of the removal of a pane of glass from at least one window in each ward and its replacement with lattice as recommended by 'the celebrated Mr Howard who has visited most of the prisons and hospitals in Europe'. He had already managed to reinforce the rule of only allowing one patient in each bed by citing the example of Cullen's work at Edinburgh Infirmary, Scotland. See CUL/1/2/2427. Response by Cullen in CUL/1/4/1. In index.
