Description Of ItemThe letters are on: arrangements for students at the university; his publications; Philosophical Society of Edinburgh and the health of Lord Kames; description of conditions in the Infirmary (in response to Hutchinson see CUL/1/2/2427 and CUL/1/3/84); instructions concerning his estate at Ormiston Hill; response to Dr [John Coakley] Lettsom; letter of recommendation for his son Peter John Cullen with a letter to him; recommendations for posts; and page by page comments on a translation of First Lines (badly damaged).

There is also a copy of the letter in Latin by Andrew Murray (p16 - see CUL/1/3/55); a letter from Henry Cullen concerning his position and arrangements at the Infirmary (p18); and a letter warning a colleague of Cullen's in Barbados that he intends to write a formal complaint to the island government (p19).

The letters are arranged chronologically from February 1782 to June 1789 then revert to 1785 and 1784. There are 26 items.
