| Description Of Item | Image includes Dr James Francis Gordon Baynam (later Bynon, having reverted to the original Welsh form of the name). He is third from the left in the top row. Baynam came to Edinburgh university from Fettes College, later obtaining his PhD from the Sorbonne and ended up teaching Berber Language and Culture at the School of Oriental and Africal Studies, University of London.
