DescriptionKrishnamoorthy Srinivas was born in Kozhikode, Kerala in 1933. He attended the Doon School and Loyola College followed by Madras Medical College. As a registrar in Dehli he was involved in the daily care of Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. He began his training in neurology in 1959 in Montreal, Canada, following which he returned to India where he worked in Voluntary Health Services and at the Government General Hospital and the Public Health Centre, West Mambalam. From 1979 he held an honorary consultant position to the armed forces of India. He founded the Institute of Neurological sciences at the VHS. He was an honorary professor at Madras Medical College. He became a fellow of the Royal Colleges in Edinburgh (1985), Glasgow and London as well as the American Academy of Neurology (2005) and American Neurological Association (2003).

He died in Mylapore in 2017. He married Padma in 1965. His son is Dr Ennapadam S Krishnamoorthy, a neuropsychiatrist.
