| Description Of Item | In wooden box.
A draw-over, temperature compensated inhaler for methoxyflurane made by Cyprane Ltd. (Keighley, Yorkshire). It is coloured bright green to distinguish it from the Tecota Mark 6 inhaler. It delivers methoxyflurane at a concentration of 0.35% in air and was approved by the Central Midwives Board in 1970. The box contains a delivery note to Stores, RHSC in the 1970s.
Note from donor: This particular type of vaporizer represents something of an anomaly as it was the result of an idea to (re)introduce methoxyflurane (Penthrane) into clinical use using a modified device previously designed and used for Trilene, over 18 years after the Tecota vaporizer. It never really caught on and it is likely that this precise equipment has never been used.
